Tips

The Broadway Ferret would like to impart some advice to theatregoers:

Please arrive at the theatre ON TIME.  Yes, some shows do start minutes after the posted time, but you don’t want to risk it if a show starts on time and you’re stuck waiting about 10 mins or when intermission starts until they can seat you.  Or worse, they might not even let you in once the show has started.  And if you’re going to complain about it, take it to the producers/people involved with the show, not the house staff.

Please turn off your cellphones before the show, or leave them on vibrate.  DO NOT answer a call during a show.

PLEASE bring children only to shows that are age-appropriate for them.  You’ll save a lot time explaining what they just saw and money on therapy.

Do not talk or discuss the show with those sitting around you during the show because they’re not the only ones to hear and be annoyed by you.  This includes talking under your breath during a show.

Any photography and video recording in the theatre is prohibited by law, even if it’s just a portrait of your family.

If you want to meet the cast after the show, just head to the stage door of the theatre which is usually located near the box office entrance.  If you can’t find it, ask another theatregoer or an usher.  The cast (rarely the entire cast) won’t show up immediately after the end of the show, so take your time.  Have your program ready along with a pen, preferably a Sharpie.
